Part 5 #3 - The everlasting Aaronid priesthood

The elephant in the room

We have read several accounts in the Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers scrolls that demonstrated the perpetual Aaronid priesthood. We are trained by the repetitions in these accounts to believe that the Aaronid priesthood will always be the Levites that serve the Lord, represent the people of Israel and perform the High priest services.

Is this a valid presumption?

The best way to answer this question is with a short review of the scrolls that come after Joshua

The Levite and His Concubine

Jdg 20:28 And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days,) saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And the LORD said, Go up; for to morrow I will deliver them into thine hand.

Jephthah

Jdg 11:26 While Israel dwelt in Heshbon and her towns, and in Aroer and her towns, and in all the cities that be along by the coasts of Arnon, three hundred years? why therefore did ye not recover them within that time?

1Sa 1:3 And this man went up out of his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the LORD of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the LORD, were there.
